• Step 3: Unfold the garment and determine its fall. Using the plain or non-pallu end, tuck the extreme end into the petticoat just below the navel and adjust the height above the ground up to your belly button. Finish one full round from behind until you reach the beginning position. Begin by draping the saree from the left side around the waist, gradually inserting the highest edges. Wrap the nine yards around your waist and continue at the same height. Make sure the embroidery faces out. Only your toes, not your ankles, should be visible when the bottom end of the cloth is slightly above the ground.
  
• Step 4: Using the leftover fabric, create five to eight pleats that are roughly the length of a finger extending from the index to the thumb. Winding the fabric from your thumb to your index finger will create the pleats. To make sure the pleats are even and straight, hold them up and adjust them. With the pleats facing the left, tuck the pleats neatly into the petticoat on the right side of your belly button. To hold the pleats in place when you walk about, pin them together.
  
• Step 5: Wrap the remaining saree from left to right around the waist till it reaches the front. Now, take the 9 yards' ornamental end and pleat it vertically, matching the garment's width. If a border is present, it need to serve as the initial pleat. To make the pleats uniform, slightly reposition them. Raise the pleats, drape it over your left shoulder, and pass it under your right arm. Make sure your pallu fits the back of your knee by adjusting its size. To prevent the pallu from slipping off, fasten it with a safety pin from the inside of the blouse on your left shoulder. Instead of pleating, you can leave the pallu open if you want
